Obama and Biden are heading for the presidency

President Hugo Chávez, said today that it will take patience in spite of? Attacks free? that in his view, he directed the U.S. presidential candidates, Barack Obama and John McCain.Current holders without first elections in 80 years
When a president leaves office, is often considered the vice president as his successor in title, at least before his political party. .
In the last three presidential administrations with an outgoing president after two terms (those of Eisenhower, Reagan and Clinton), the corresponding vice president immediately took the race for the presidency (Richard Nixon lost the presidential election in 1960, George HW Bush won in the 1988, while Al Gore lost those held in 2000).
In the presidential elections of 1968, Lyndon Johnson decided to seek reelection to the top. Was submitted to the New Hampshire primary and won, but later in a nationally televised speech, announced that he would not seek reelection. The then Vice President Hubert Humphrey decided to come forward and become the candidate for the Democratic Party Terry McAuliffe and Obama also.
The rest of recent vice presidents, as Dan Quayle and Walter Mondale have also participated in the race to the White House on several occasions. Mondale succeeded as a candidate of his party to its president Jimmy Carter, after his first and only term. However, Quayle failed to win election to the presidency.
The U.S. vice president, Dick Cheney, announced in 2001 that was never presented to the election, reiterated that claim in 2004. During the program Fox News Sunday, Cheney said: "I will say it as clear as it can do ... If I go out nominee, I submit, if I become elected, not taking office." The race to the White House 2008 with Terry McAuliffe pushing Hillary and now Barack Obama, not counted in this manner, with no candidate holds a position at present, being an election? Open? in which neither the president nor the vice president will present candidates.
Assuming that Cheney will not change its mind, the 2008 elections will be the first time since 1928 (80 years), in which neither the President nor the Vice President will participate in the race for the presidency.
